GIVE-A-MED
SYNOPSIS
“Give-A-Med” is a free medication distribution initiative aimed at providing
medications to the poor and the vulnerable in society at Public Hospitals.
For effectiveness and accountability, the initiative will be technologically
driven through an APP and electronic voucher system.
The Medications shall be provided in partnership with well established and
structured Pharmacies and on-site Dispensaries where beneficiaries can use their e-med vouchers to get
medications.
We shall engage in a Certification Process for the Pharmacies.
We also intend to approach
Pharmaceutical companies and other NGOs for support.
A Free Mobile Clinic would be added at the second Phase of the Initiative.
Rationale
The COVID-19 Pandemic has once again exposed the low level of our medical infrastructure and with the increased level of poverty, many more people would be unable to access good Medicare.
A highpoint of this crisis is patients’ inability to afford prescribed medications. There is still need for well planned and properly implemented intervention in this regard.
